Montage: Activity 3

As editors exercise their ever-increasing power over information control, what limits would you impose on them as to the extent to which they can manipulate the photographic image?

The limits I would impose on the editors would be a common code of ethics. If the image is being altered to an extent that it's offensive to the subject(s). Also, if the manipulated photograph is slanderous and false advertisement to an unknown public, that should be controlled. In order to secure these rules, there are some guidelines that can be constructed. All negatively manipulated images should be labeled as a manipulated photo, as well as images that could influence younger teens. All images that will be available to children or teens should also be labeled as manipulations.
